<description>This is very interesting. In 2008 I set up the private Specialist Pain Physio clinic in SW London that is dedicated to the treatment of chronic pain and injury. One of the focus areas is CRPS where graded motor imagery plays a significant part of the treatment programme in many cases. The service has grown quickly as there is demand for chronic pain clinics in the private sector with huge numbers of sufferers. At Specialist Pain Physio we apply the biopsychosocial model of care and as a matter of course link with pain specialists and psychology. Treatment is based on the latest neuroscience and an in-depth understanding of the science of pain that incorporates the fact that pain is a multisystem output. We therefore look at new and novel ways of manipulating other relevant body systems including the autonomic, endocrine and immune systems through education, understanding, well-planned and reasoned activity programmes, health promotion and other interventions.
